Four of us attended the above event last Wednesday and were challenged to “Make a Difference.” We already have the Eco School Green Flag Award and our next step is to make a Sensory Garden. Cara had a good idea while making a vox pox. She thought that we could start a campaign to raise money for mature trees to block out the new Wimpey houses that have spoiled our view from the Marsh Garden area of our school. Don Ledingham visited our class last Thursday just as we were showing our peers the start of the podcast that we hope to produce in the next four weeks. He also presented eleven children with certificates for completing their Extreme Learning Projects.

We attended the ICT/Enterprise Event today in Haddington and were awarded an oscar for Looking After the Environment. Don Ledingham presented certificates to Cara, Robyn and Murray. We had a problem yesterday as we could not remember where we had saved our vox pox so we were unable to add it to our film! We made an alternative vox pox yesterday afternoon but were disappointed to lose our prepared vox pox. At nine this morning we finally found our missing vox pox and saved it on to a memory stick hoping that we could attach our external hard drive to a power source and create a podcast before we were required to show our work. Karen Robertson and Elizabeth Cowan came to our aid and we produced the podcast underneath. We have learned a lesson the hard way. Make sure that you know where on the server you have saved work! We had great fun creating the podcast and will continue to update/add to it. All the others in our class have learned how to make a podcast and the children who attend the Computer Club are also making podcasts! The top podcast was our final version. We decided that we had added too many sound effects to the first podcast.
