Evacuation to the Museum of Flight October 25, 2009
Posted by Law Upper in : Uncategorized , 6commentsTo help us to learn more about life in East Lothian during World War II, P7 were evacuated to the Museum of Flight. We all dressed up as evacuees of the time, together with our name label. At the museum were were lucky enough to be able to visit Concorde before we stepped back in time. We learned about what the RAF officers would wear on duty, we were able to sound our own air raid siren, we learned about life on site in East Fortune during the war and we were able to see Spitfire and a Messerschmitt planes.
Here are some of 7B’s photos to remind us of that day.

At the High School P7C made banana sandwiches as they would in World War Two. This is how they would make it.
You need: 1 parsnip, 2 slices of plain bread, 1 teaspoon Sugar, 1 teaspoon Butter, 3 drops of Banana Essence.
1.Wash and peel the parsnips.
2.Cook in boiling water until soft.
3.Drain and dry the parsnips.
4.Place the parsnips in a bowl and mash.
5.Add the essence and the sugar.
6.Mix well. This makes the mock banana pulp.
7.Butter the Bread.
8.Spread with the mock banana pulp.
9.Cut into squares.
10. Serve and Enjoy!
