Merry Christmas Everyone December 17, 2008

So P7, only one and a half days to go before the Christmas holidays. We still have some work to complete, a lot of tidying up and many carols to sing so I hope that you still have some energy left after a very busy couple of weeks. You have all worked very hard this term and I am sure that you are ready for the holidays.
Thank you to 7C for being a fantastic class as I will be leaving you to move next door to take over responsibility for 7B. Don’t worry you still have the fantastic Mrs B with the fab Mrs. Conlin and I will still continue to see you all. We all wish Mrs Gilkison and her bump all the very best for 2009.
I hope that you all have a fabulous holiday, please get plenty of rest as we have a lot to do next year and plenty to look forward to. Joyeux Noel, Miss Brodie
P7’s got talent December 16, 2008
Posted by Law Upper in : P7, events , 16commentsP7 gathered together this afternoon to showcase their talent. Apologies were sent from Louis, Danni, Cheryl & Simon (although he did make a surprise appearance) and the judging roles fell to the P7 teachers. It was an incredibly difficult job as members across all of the P7 classes took to the stage to show us their skills. The programme was varied as the audience were treated to singing, dancing, comedy, a piano recital and our first cookery demonstration. In the end the teachers struggled to make a final decision and it was decided that the top prize should be shared by three acts -
- Mhairi and Iona for their gravity defying dance routine
- Hamish, Ivy, Michael and Meilin for their version of Dragon’s Den
- Girls Aloud - aka Andrew, Michael, Ryan, Alex and Lachlan who all sang beautifully and managed not to fall off their high heels. Their performance was very uncanny and only their muddy legs gave away their real identity.
Well done, to all of the performers. You all showed great confidence and real talent that we will put to good use in our forthcoming musical. Here are some pictures of all of our fabulous acts:

A week with murder, politics and a Christmas party! December 13, 2008
Posted by Law Upper in : P7, Uncategorized, events , 22commentsP7 have had a incredibly busy week. It started with our trip to explore Edinburgh’s Royal Mile. This term we have been learning about Edinburgh’s past and comparing it to the present day. Some of the highlights of our trip included finding the spot where Mary Queen of Scots’ Secretary David Rizzio was murdered in Holyrood Palace. We visited the debating chamber of the Scottish Parliament to learn how laws are created within Scotland. We climbed the `tail’ of a dormant volcano and explored the Royal Mile learning about the key events and characters who contributed to its rich history.
On Thursday afternoon everyone in P7 (including the teachers) put on their gladrags for the annual Christmas party. It kicked off with many games and ceilidh dances in the hall. Once exhausted we returned to our classrooms to share our party food with our classmates. Here are some pictures from the party.

At the end of the week, the P7 pupils were visted by our local MSP Iain Gray. We conducted a `Question Time’ style event so that we could interview Mr Gray about key issues effecting Scotland right now. Well done to everyone for helping to make this a really informative and special week for P7.

The Harbour Fireworks! December 3, 2008
Posted by Law Upper in : Uncategorized, visits , add a commentOn the 5th of November, as we all know, we had the North Berwick Annual Harbour Fireworks. Lots of people and put money into the buckets, but unfortunately Law Primary does not have a total of how much they raised but we are sure it was a lot!
This is a slide-show of some photos of the Fireworks.
