Welly Chucking Champions! November 5, 2007

Posted by Law Upper in : events , trackback

Hi! It’s Joanna and Chloe and we won the welly week challange for the girls. Chloe won the best technique and Joanna won the longest throw. Joanna threw 17.6 metres and Chloe used an ususal backwards throw high over her head. The cost was £1 for 3 throws and we gave the money to Farm Africa which is a charity. We had to wait in a line for about 5 minutes to get a shot chucking the welly. Joanna feels very proud of herself and Chloe is very happy that her technique was good. We have included some photos.

P7 had a welly chucking competition to help raise money for Farm Africa. We had to pay one pound to get three goes at throwing the welly and every one had a great time. The furthest through for girls was won by Joannna Whitelaw and for boys it was Fraser Tompson. The best technike winners were Chloe and Christopher. We also brought in a donation and took part in a welly parade. The people that the most creativity and effort won the competition. The parade was judged by Miss. Thompson and Mrs. Walker. The winners were Imogen Greenan (7D) Dennis Whitemore (7D) Kieran Floyd (7D) and Finlay Carr (7B). I really enjoyed Whacky Welly Week because i knew i was raising money for families in Africa who are not as fortunate as us.

To raise money for farm africa p7 we chucked some wellies and measured the longest throw and the best technique, we also had a fashion parade with all p7’s nd miss thompson and mrs walker judged who had really whacky wellies. I was one of the winners for the best wellies because there were four winners. i decorated my wellies with lots of stickers and painted some bright flowers on them and some tinsel at the top! It was a really good way to raise money and it worked because the school managed to raise round about £2,500.
