7B’s Anti-Bullying Assembly and Song Writing Debut! October 31, 2007

Posted by Law Upper in : events , 34comments

7B’s assembly had a song. We wrote the lyrics and some of us brought our instruments into school and we came up with a melody to back the song. Then last Friday all P7 pupils sang the song and we recorded it. Have a listen.

We also included a podcast and a powerpoint.

Everyone who watched our assembly thought it was pretty good so we are performing it again to the middle area. The performance took place on the 26th of October 2007. We performed it to the middle area on the 31st of October. We also had a few dramas in it and to make the song we had a song writing club after school on Wednesday. The club taught the rest of the class the song on Thursday. We got the message over quite well and no one got bored so it went well.

It was really interesting, we saw slideshows about lots of things including road safety from the past and making a school travel plan. We hope that we will be able to follow up on our school’s travel plan and try to encourage people to walk or cycle to school safely. We will keep you updated on everything on the web blog.

P7b went a visit to the high school to a science lab to do science with Miss Nicholson .We used the smart board to find out about experiment relationships.  Miss Nicholson told us about another word which was variable it meant changing something.  She showed us some shapes on the smart board and we had to write down what was changing.  At the end of the lesson we did an experiment to test our reaction time.  We all enjoyed the very informative lesson and are looking forwards to doing science in high school!
