Forest School November 10, 2008
Posted by Law Upper in : Uncategorized , 5comments‘ Forest School enables children to enjoy the outdoors in a supportive environment whilst providing a unique, active learning experience.’
For the last 6 weeks a number of P6 pupils have been involved in our first Forest School programme at Law Primary. The Forest School experience is a natural complement to the recent Woodlands project.
Over the last 6 weeks we have been busy, in the Whisky Bottle, trying lots of different activities; here are some examples of what we have been doing:
* leaf identification and leaf bingo
* created picture frames and made our own pictures from natural resources
* using a bow saw to make tree cookies
* mini shelter building
* whittling
* making a fire and using it to make damper bread
Here are some pictures from our Forest School experience. Thank you to those who were able to take part and to all those who helped. I hope you enjoyed it; it was a special experience for me.

Posted by Law Upper in : Uncategorized , add a commentYesterday a women called Karen from the Seabird Centre here in North Berwick and two junior tour guides from the school told us about being Junior Tour Guides and if we wanted to be one. You had to fill in a form and answer some questions. Don’t worry though because you’ll all get the chance in P5,P6 and P7. The tour is in the seabird centre and they last half an hour.
