French Breakfast May 30, 2008
Posted by Miss Boyd in : 2007-08, P5 , 3commentsFriday 30th of May 2008 the p5s hosted a French Breakfast for our French Project. We invited our parents and had a lot of fun. Our parents enjoyed the food. There were croissants, crepes, pains au chocolat, jam, juice and cheese. Our parents also looked at all our work on the France project and chatted with other parents and relatives. They arrived at 9:30 and they left at 10:25. Check out our podcast.

Lunch time with the French!!! May 29, 2008
Posted by Law Middle in : P5, Uncategorized , add a commentOn Tuesday 27th of May 2008. The French school came to North Berwick & had Mince & Tatties for lunch. Some of the French people liked Mince and Tatties and others didn’t. They all had to have a school dinner because they didn’t bring a packed lunch. They were so lucky because they got them free. They looked like they were having fun when they were playing. I think we found a new Cristiano Rolando!!!

French Visit! May 28, 2008
Posted by Law Middle in : P5 , add a commentOn Tuesday a class called CM2B came to Law Primary for a visit. They came from Montreuil near Paris. They came at 10 o’clock in the morning and stayed until after lunch. They had a Scottish assembly for the French visitors and Monsieur Guen Court. There were Scottish songs, highland dancing and bagpipes with a drum aswell. The songs we all sang were Bonnie Wee Jeannie McColl, Auld Lang Syne, and Welcome. The songs the dancers danced to were the Highland Fling, and The Sword Dance. Micheal Bell and Finlay Graham were playing the bagpipes and the drums. We all enjoyed it when the French visitors came to visit us.

They are on their way… May 26, 2008

Our French friends are on their way! They arrived in Scotland a few days ago and are coming to visit us tomorrow. They are hoping to arrive at 10am and spend the morning and lunch with the P5s. They have to leave at 1.45pm to get their ferry all the way back to France. We are looking forward to learning from them and teaching them a few things about Scotland as well.
This Friday, the 30th May, we are inviting guests to a French Breakfast in the Middle Area. There will be croissants, pain au chocolat and more galore!
Blackadder Building May 22, 2008
Posted by Law Middle in : P5 , add a commentOn Wednesday primary 5c went down to to the Blackadder Church. Mr Dougal talked to us about the history of the Blackadder Church. We were very interested about the history of the Church. Did you know that the Church was named after a minister called Blackadder - he died on the Bass Rock!!!

John Muir Award @ The Lodge May 16, 2008
Posted by Miss Boyd in : 2007-08, P5 , add a commentOn the 15th of May we went to the lodge as part of our John Muir Award.
When we got there,there were 3 Rangers, Laura, Tara, Caroline and Alex who is the Lodge Warden. They were going to teach us about trees and the animals that live in them for instance birds,squirrels,bats,owls,and also the animals that live around them for instance badgers,foxes, rabbits and hares.
We also learnt about the trees and there are lots of different trees at the Lodge. e.g. beech, horse chestnut, holly, oak, sycamore and birch.

Countdown to Our French Visitors! May 13, 2008

Our French friends will be arriving at our school two weeks today! They have sent us a video of themselves on their weblog…go have a look! http://cm2b-nanteuil.blogspot.com/
They have also got a map of their route and some amazing photos of the ferry they are travelling on to get to Rosyth.
World Book Day! March 7, 2008
Posted by Miss Boyd in : P5 , add a commentYesterday was World Book Day and it was very clear at Law Primary School. Lots of the children were dressed up as their favourite book characters. Each class decided how they would celebrate WBD and each class’ Library Committee Member did a survey on the children’s favourite books. Lots of fun was had!
Here is how some of the P5s celebrated! We brought in our favourite books and put them all on a table. Each table then got to choose a book they’d never read before and read it for ten minutes. They then had to think of a quiz question to test the book owner’s knowledge of it! The questions were VERY challenging!
Generation Science March 4, 2008
Posted by Miss Boyd in : P5 , add a commentPoor Freddie Firefly’s tail wassn’t working any more! The P5s had to help him find an efficient, safe and renewable way to light his tail. We tried lots of different light sources and had fun experimenting to see which was the best and had happy faces next to all the criteria.
Christmas is coming… December 6, 2007

The Middle Area pupils are all getting excited in the run up to Christmas. In P5, we’ve been writing stories called ‘Waiting for Santa’. We read a few stories and poems about the anticipation of Christmas and decided to write our own!
Here is 5Bs classroom. Doesn’t it look festive?!
The children put up this display of their fancy stockings and decorated the tree all by themselves! Can you spot the children all warm for the winter? We added shiny material to make sure they could be seen in the dark. We have been talking about reflective materials in our Light and Sound topic.
I hope the tree stays up this time!
We added strips of old black sugar paper on the window to make it look like an old fashioned window. We then added special spray to add an illusion of fallen snow! Do you like it?
