Shapeshifters! November 6, 2008

Posted by Miss Boyd in : 2008-09, Maths, P5 , trackback

Miss Boyd’s P5 maths set have been going shape crazy over the last few days. They have been learning all about 3D shapes. They now know how many faces and edges they’ve got AND how many corners too (we call them vertices though!). They then made some 3D shapes out of construct-o-straws. Look at the fabulous shapes they managed to make! Can you spot the CUBE? CUBOID? TRIANGULAR PYRAMID (that’s our newest one)? TRIANGULAR PRISM? Some of them even made OCTAGONAL PRISMS without even realising what they were called!!

All of the 3-d shapes are really good and it looks like they have put a lot of effort into making them.
