P6 are radio stars!!

On Wednesday 13th January P6 were all very excited to listen to Jed from Fischy Music talking about their Scottish song writing project live on Radio Scotland!! He sounded really great and said lots of nice things about working with them. Short bits of the P6 class songs were played too and the radio presenter was very impressed. Jonny, Flora, Elliot and Miss Allan were interviewed earlier in the week by a local reporter and their interviews sounded great too.

If you would like to hear all the Cluster Scottish Songs then go to the Fischy Music website, look for the East Lothian Schools Song Writing link. We hope that you enjoy listening to them because we had a great time writing and recording them!! Click on the link: http://www.fischy.com/

Getting in the Christmas spirit in P3b…..

Well, on Monday all the P1’s, P2’s and P3’s were treated to a BRILLIANT pantomime performance of Goldilocks. It was so funny and we all got so involved in the story we nearly screamed the school walls down!
In class we’ve been making some Christmas crafts too. We made our own advent calendar using our origami skills. By carefully folding our squares of paper we each made an advent basket for each day leading up to Christmas Day.
We also have each made our own 3D Christmas trees with snow sprinkled on the ends of the branches. Christmas is definitely on its way!

Advent and Advent Calendars

Thanks agains to Woodlands Junior School for their fabulous Advent calendar below. Click here to find out more Advent itself.

St Andrews Day Celebrity Visit

Law primary celebrated St Andrews Day in style today with a visit from their own home town celebrity, Catriona Matthews. All middle and upper area pupils compiled a list of questions to ask Catriona and had an opportunity to listen to all the answers first hand. Advice from Catriona included..

” enjoy playing golf and hit the ball  as hard as you can. You have to have a lot of patience and practice every day for a few hours but anyone can play.”

What a great opportunity, thank you for making time in your busy life to visit us!

Think Pink

Well it is the time of year to support Breast Cancer Awareness. All staff are contributing to the pink raffle having brought in lots of pink items and also paying a contribution to wear pink or something scary. The money will go to a very worthwhile cause.

Lean On Me

The annual whole school assembly is approaching and this year our focus in on Malawi. Our school representatives are working with the High School in order to keep up the momentum of ways in which we can help. The High school pupils visited Milawi earlier this year and they shared their amazing experience with us during a talk and slideshow presentation.

We have been trying to put together as many back packs as possible to send out to the schools in order to support  “Mary`s Meals.”  We have also learnt the song “Lean on Me” so we can all sing it together and show our support for this worthwhile cause. (click on the link to learn more)

All your help and support is greatly appreciated.
