A new billboard has gone up just down the road, on the traffic island where beggars congregate at the entrance to the Cathedral. A homeless family lives on the patch of scrubby land which divides our small road from the main dual-carriageway. Well, having um-ed and ah-ed and “I’ll phone him tomorrow”-ed about it for months, we’ve finally plunged into the world of dressing gowns and hoo-chas and started Karate lessons.
