Cheeerio and tattiebye! November 3, 2008
Posted by storey in : Community, School, Uncategorized , 3commentsNo, we’re not away quite yet (!) but will be moving down to North Yorkshire in the very early New Year. We hope to keep in touch with you and all the latest Humbie ongoings via the blog. Once Beth is started and settled in her new school it would be good to swap stories about what everyone is up to….
We’ve been very happy here and are sorry to be leaving the area but also excited about this next chapter in the Storey story!
We are looking forward to meeting and making new friends and to spreading the word about how great Humbie is!
It’s been a real pleasure being a part of the Humbie community, we’ll miss you … please keep in touch.

Humbie’s Exciting Visitors October 30, 2008
Posted by P4-7 in : Events, School , 2commentsOn Wednesday Jen a veterinary nurse brought in her barn owl called Alba and her tortoise called Brian. Jen told us about keeping Alba as a pet and looking after Brian. We all got to stroke Alba gently and hold Brian.
We learned that :-
owls have a skull the size of a ping pong ball
they are not very clever
they bring up pellets which contain bones and fluff of the things they have eaten.
If you find a baby owl beside the road move it to the side of the road as the mother will find it there. She will always be watching it.
We learned that Brian the tortoise was only 18 months old and he will live for about 60 years.
