Hi everyone
I would just like to say that the staff and parents at humbie primary
have done a wondefull job at bringing the whole community
together. I would like to know about the past, i know that when Mrs
Lothian was working at the school she had some great storys to tell
about when she was a little girl at school.Keep up the great work everyone.
2. Grace Gray - I was Grace McNab then. - June 6, 2008
I attended Humbie Primary School from September, 1939, to June, 1940. I was one of the evacuees from Edinburgh. Miss Cockburn was the teacher in these days. We lived for a while at Lord Polwarth’s house. Then we were sent to Pogbie House.
Are there any records, photos, lists of evacuees, etc. at the school?
I have found some old Humbie School Photographs roughly around 1920’s -My Aunt and Uncle lived in Humbie and their children went to Humbie School, Uncle John Gold worked at the railway station and I think I have some items regarding women’s Guild but will have to look them out again if there is an interest I would be delighted to hand them over, my cousin died at the age of 92 and she kept quite a few. mementos of their life in Humbie
Upon reading your lovely offer to pass on the photographs and mementos from your family, I took to wondering if you would kindly allow me to digitise/scan up some/all of the photographs? They would make a great addition to the digital archive that seems to be underway at the Primary, particularly for the Humbie Past and Present page here on the blog.

Hello

I thought some of the links mentioned in my message to Eleanor Urquhart might be of interest here…and so:
Speaking of Humbie Past & Present, guess who? lol no prizes, just a giggle.
Sorry, all will sort this soon as I figure it out…
Dear Mrs. Isobel Ferguson,
Upon reading your lovely offer to pass on the photographs and mementos from your family, I took to wondering if you would kindly allow me to digitise/scan up some/all of the photographs? They would make a great addition to the digital archive that seems to be underway at the Primary, particularly for the Humbie Past and Present page here on the blog.
Many thanks and best wishes,
Eliza Sparks
