EXHIBITION: PROPOSED WINDFARM DEVELOPMENTS May 28, 2008

I do hope that as many of you as possible will come to the exhibition – this is an ideal opportunity to find out, in detail, what the developers are considering and to ask any questions you may have. A well attended exhibition will show the developers that the local community is interested in what they plan – whatever your views are.

PROPOSED WINDFARM DEVELOPMENTS
HUMBIE, EAST LOTHIAN
(EAST OF DUN LAW/SOUTRA/A68)
FRIDAY, 30TH MAY 2008
1.00 PM – 8.00 PM
A Public Exhibition will be held in Humbie Village Hall (EH36 5PJ) on Friday, 30th May, when representatives of the developers of the two the proposed windfarms will display the latest plans.
The plans exhibited may not be the final proposals for these two developments, but the exhibition will provide everyone with a valuable opportunity to assess the potential impact on the local environment ahead of the submission of the anticipated planning applications.
Appeal for old digital camera April 29, 2008
Posted by Mhairi Stratton in : Community, Maths , 3commentsDoes anyone have an old digital camera with USB attachment that they would like to donate to the school?
The children at Humbie Primary School are keen to update the community blog themselves. We need to use low resolution photographs so that our blog is easily accessible to dial-up users. At the moment we have to use a computer programme to do this and this is very time consuming, especially for out P3s. If we had an old camera we could set the camera to take low resolution photographs and then we could put them straight onto the blog. Maybe then the P1s and P2s could be blogging for themselves too. . .
Please contact 01875 833 247 if you can help.

Posted by P4-7 in : Maths, P4-7 , 5commentsDo you get cofused with multiplication?(I do sometimes!)
Here is how you do it.Say it was12×3. 3 ones are 3 so 3 tens are 30. 3 twos are 6. Add it together you have 5 seconds…..
The answer is 36.Did you get that?
Here is an other one. 340×6. 6 threes are 18 since its hundreds it will be 1800. 6 fours are 24 since its tens it will be 240.The units are zero so add 1800 and 240.
You have 5 seconds….. The answer 2040.
GET IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P1-3 enjoyed learning about number sequences. They used cones to help them.
P4-7 used counting strategies to add and subtract thousands, hundreds, tens and ones. They used empty number lines to help them with their counting.
Happy hoppers are great at improving our ability to count forwards and backwards in multiples. 4 points a bounce!
