EduBuzz uses a Google Custom Search Engine to provide a way of searching through the various web sites which form part of the eduBuzz networked learning community.
There’ s plenty scope for tuning this search engine to meet the needs of the community.
The scope of the search currently includes, for example:
- edubuzz blogs: with addresses starting edubuzz.org these include school web sites, class blogs and personal learning journals
- personal blogs maintained elsewhere: these are typically staff blogs or school web sites with addresses in other domains
- project wikis: some projects have used wikis from, for example, Wikispaces to provide a shared web site that multiple unregistered contributors can edit.
Users of the search engine can easily refine their search using labels displayed on the search results page. These labels currently include:
- schools
- support
- personal
- A Curriculum for Excellence
