Re: The Humbie Community Blog
I’d be very grateful for some help with posting (as parent & community member) on the Humbie Community Blog. I’ve twice now had posts vanish into the ether because they’ve been deemed spam. On both occasions, the messages contained information that would seem to be of use to both the Primary school and the community. As the posts were zapped, all information and links were lost, which is a shame.
I’m also finding that the html codes I know and use on other forums/sites does not work on eduBuzz… e.g., , , etc.
Thanks very much.
Thanks Eliza, this is useful feedback.
In the short term you can minimise the risk of comments being deemed spam by logging in, via your own site, before going to the Humbie one. In the longer term we will be changing the anti-spam solution for one which will eliminate this problem.
The reason for your HTML codes not working is that WordPress uses the more recent XHTML standard. There’s a note on the differences at the WordPress documentation site. The syntax is very similar, but XHTML is just a bit more fussy. It insists on such things as closing tags, quotes around attribute values, and the use of lower case letters. If you’ve used HTML before, it won’t cause you any difficulties.
Thank you, David! That’s a huge help.
I’ll try to resurrect the post (about where to access/download free online audiobooks for children) and will copy it to another programme (word or wordpad) before submitting it just in case.
