Linking Yester Primary, Scotland with Kuvansin koulu Primary in Finland August 19, 2007
Posted by yesterp7 in : Getting started , 2commentsShortly, this blog will link two primary schools; Yester Primary’s year 4 class in Scotland with the corresponding class in the Kuvansin koulu Primary in Finland.
Yester Primary School is situated in south east Scotland, about 30 miles east of the capital city, Edinburgh. The school is rural, and has a current role of around 165 children. The school is in the picturesque village of Gifford, about 5 minutes drive from the larger market town of Haddington. The school is only minutes from the Lammermuir hills, yet is also only around 15 minutes drive from beautiful beaches.
Kuvansin koulu Primary school is situated in eastern Finland, around 300 km north east of the capital city of Helsinki. Like Yester, the school is rural, with a current role of around 125 pupils in 6 classes. The town of Varkaus, population 24000, is nearby. The school is not far from the Russian border.
Both schools hope to use this blog to exchange information about each other and to find out a bit about each other’s cultures.
