In critical skills we do challanges. We are usally put into groups and we are given a sheet of paper to tell us what the challange is. We choose task roles (Facilitator, materials manager, time keeper, reporter/recorder, quality checker and scribe.) Then we start the challange and usually at the end look at each others work. Each group would show their work and are given 2 stars (good things) and a wish (somthing to work on).

One morning we got challenged to make a tower out of newspaper and sellotape (no scissors). We got time to plan for 10 minutes. Then we had to build it. We got 15 minutes to build it but we weren’t aloud to talk. The winner was the group with the tallest tower that didn’t fall over. It was difficult to choose between two but at last one fell over.
This is our merit points chart. We get points for good behaviour and work. If we save up 20 points we get a sticker for our book and can trade these for prizes on a friday. By Ashliegh
Reading buddies is a good way to interact with younger ones. We do it every Monday afternoon at 2:15. The younger ones realy enjoy it. We usually read to them or play reading games about the letter sounds. We really enjoy it too.
