in language we have been writing short stories and focussing on the structure of a story. we made a story line and wrote down what was going to happen in our story at each point. then we drew a story mountain with chalk outside. and went into pairs and told them what or stor would be about.
the way a story mountain works is: you walk up the mountain, starting to build up to the problem and then once you get to the top there’s a critical incident. then you start to walk down the mountain starting to resolve the problem, and once you get to the bottom you have wrapped it all up in a sensiblle way and have finished it.

This is the first attempt at an animation in Primary 5!
Primary 5 have worked fantastically well as a group to storyboard, create scenery and characters and to then carry out the animation, create the music and edit into a film!
They have done a great job - Wallace and Grommet eat your heart out! I can’t wait to see what you make next.

In P5 we’re doing animation and we’ve just finished making our characters. It’s really hard to make them chunky enough so they’ll stand up but kind of thin so they don’t look weird. I found it really hard to stick all the peices if plastecine on, especialy since at the start we were going to make ours do a cartweel! Mrs. MacIver did say that it mightn’t work but we tried it anyway and she was right! now we have to make the background and then we’ll be able to get on animating the real movie!

In P.E. we’re doing athletics. There are two student teachers teaching us and they’re called Miss Dunn and Miss Dunns. It’s very confusing!
They’ve been teaching us how to do Long Jump, High Jump, Throwing, Relays, Running and Hurdles.
It’s been really fun in P.E. with them!

I language we have been writing instructions. It was quite fun in a way because we got to do the things we were writing the instructions about.E.g. We had to write instructions about painting and before writing we got to paint! The writing instructions was boring but the activities were fun!
