This is a general thanks for such supportive comments - I know I've never met most of you but you might be surprised how much your comments help!! As for swimming club and committees - that's about to be written.

GPM, there's an award for you on my latest post. And I hope you've managed to off-load some of those jobs. Otherwise I can see a contingent of bloggers setting off for your part of the world in a charabang to sort some of those committee members out...(Don't make me angry...)

It's good to hear you say that it hasn't been as bad as anticipated. I expect it's often the other way round. But you do confess to being tired (and I guess that might be an understatement), so please do try and drop some stuff. You need to look after yourself. Don't mean to lecture, but it's probably what you are saying to yourself too, deep down.

Hi GPM. It makes me mad that you are not getting any support from your committee. I suggest e-mailing a list of those side-effects (without your comments after each of them) to your co-members. Then stand up at the next meeting and thank who-ever you fancy passing your responsibilities on to for their support in this tricky time. Somehow I don't think they will refuse then.

At least, that is what I would LIKE to do - if I had the nerve...

Good to hear from you again, GPM

I wish you good luck with ever offloading committee duties. I think it might have to come down to packing up all the books and box of papers and physically dumping them in the middle of a table and walking off. But it doesn't sound like your way to do things!

Maybe the question for those who come up with perfectly good reasons/excuses is "if you can't ( won't ) do that what can (will) you do?" When a couple of volunteers were in danger of being swamped at our basketball club a meeting was called at the start of the season and each of the parents were asked to commit to doing something. The load was spread and nobody reneged on their commitment.
All the best for your continued good health and recovery.
