Like it, Dave.
I decided to see what my S3 class could make of the tutorial even if I hadn't had time to master it. I will encourage more of them to post their efforts, but here is one.

It's great that these things can be integrated into Glow, isn't it? The 'Page Viewer', 'XML' and 'Text Editor' web parts are already proving themselves really useful. I really like the idea that I could go to one place and be able to update other services I use, and easily find people that I have a shared interest with.

One of the things I really liked about the Ops training was that it opened up a lot of questions in my mind. This is where I feel staff nationally and at local authority level can be of great use to one another, and the schools they work with.

By spending time and working through the processes, both the ASM and SCA roles can be clearly delineated, so that those undertaking the tasks are clear in their objectives and timescales.

As you rightly point out, the roles can be shared or divided. Many of the tasks undertaken by the roles are largely administrative - something to keep in mind when allocating the roles.

Hi Lynn

Yes! I think inevitably by the very nature of the two different environments the roles will differ. Whether we are talking about the roles of the mentors or indeed the roles of the ASM's and SCA's.

In saying that Mentors will play a crucial role, what I mean is that the role out process will involve a number of stages in each of which they will be called upon to play a part.

The ASM's and SCA's are key roles in setting up establishments / schools. They will need training in carrying out their roles, the mentors will be their trainers. A mentor may be selected to be the ASM or SCA in their school depending on the school's staffing arrangements.

Once the establishment / school is set, up admin staff will need to be trained to upload the various information feeds - bulletins etc., school website maintenance - amongst many other tasks.

All this even before teaching staff in school begin their training. Not all staff are teachers and not all of them are based in schools. So the roll out process will be lengthy and potentially complex process. We aim to rollout to cluster groups and no two clusters are alike.

What makes me less apprehensive about this project is the knowledge that we have onboard a brilliant team of mentors and support staff eager to get on with the process.

We're getting there!
