About Learning

Published by fkelly at 7:41 pm under Chartered Teacher, England, Module 2, Scotland, aCfE

I’m in the middle of reading “About Learning: Report of the Learning Working Group” published by Demos in 2005. This is on my reading list for day 3 of module 2. I’m really enjoying it (I know, I’m a freak). It’s got Curriculum for Excellence written all over it and it’s come from the great punching bag in the South - Englandshire!

If you’re as sad as I am, why not have a read?

I must be really sad as well then because I actually took this very thing away on holiday with me earlier this summer ! Do you think it’s a biol/psychology teacher thing ?

There is quite a bit of interesting interpretation of cognitive psychology in it..

Oops, sorry. Maybe it is something to do with that…?

In this article they advocate a regular authoritative overview of recent educational research literature.

It just occurred to me that an alternative approach to this would be a blog along the lines of the BPS’s Research Digest Blog:
    http://bps-research-digest.blogspot.com

This could be part of the Research Blogging movement:
    http://www.researchblogging.org/

The RSS feed could then be patched into Glow.

Who would administer it though? GTCS? LTS? A University?
