I appreciate that the Council is fully committed to supporting rural schools but we. as a Parent Council, have got to look at the consequences of the proposed cuts on our particular school. Measures allowing the head teacher to implement cuts which would not result in cutting essential staff members may not be easily achievable. That is why it is vital for us as a Parent Council to try and influence decision making at as an early a stage as possible.

Just to say that East Lothian Council is fully committed to supporting rural schools as evidenced by last month's Education Committee report which was supported by all political parties.

I'd urge you to participate in the on-going consultation on the council's 2009/2010 budget.

Hi Alan,

Welcome to edubuzz. Thanks for getting involved. I hope the blog proves useful.

To make any post appear as an entry in your Event Calendar, just use the "Event Editor" - right at the bottom of the Write Post screen - to set start and end dates and times. The rest is automatic.
