Update on P2 Portraits February 29, 2008
Posted by elps in : Primary 2 , 1 comment so far I’m sad to say that none of the P2 portraits were chosen for the shortlist of the ‘Draw Your Mum’ competition. I thought they were FANTASTIC! The children put a huge amount of effort into their portraits and the result was detailed and realistic drawings. However, all of that effort has not gone to waste as mum’s have received a photograph of their child’s beautiful drawing and the great news is……….all of the children’s pictures have gone on show at a special exhibition at Ocean Terminal from today until Sunday. So go and have a look!
You also might be able to see the children’s drawings in the newspaper or the Evening News’ website next week because there were so many entries received.
Well Done P2!
Book Week at East Linton February 28, 2008

Next week (3rd to the 7th of March) is Book Week at East Linton and we will all be doing much more reading than usual. On Monday we have a visit from author and illustrator Ian Jackson who will be reading us some of his stories. All week children will be taking part in our “Ready, steady, read” sponsored read. Don’t forget to keep a log of all the reading you do next week. For every £20 you raise in sponsorship, you will get a £5 voucher to spend at the Book Fair.
Head Teacher’s challenge next week is to tell us about your “Top Ten Favourite Books”. Forms are available in the foyer and entries will be on display in the library. Our librarians and Mrs Pickles have been working really hard recently to check our stock and tidy up the library. Thank you for all your efforts. The Parent Council have kindly decided to fund a new top for our library table and we hope that it will arrive next week to put the finishing touches to our library.
P2 Mother’s Day Portraits February 27, 2008
Posted by elps in : Primary 2 , 4commentsWe have been learning to draw a portrait using pencils. We had to remember to use the pencils lightly and to have an egg shaped head.
We have entered the pictures into the Evening News’ ‘Draw Your Mum’ competition. So look in Friday’s Evening News to see if any of the pictures were chosen for the short list and vote for your favourite.
Please enjoy looking at our pictures. Happy Mother’s Day from P2.

When we talked about our favourite part of the session, one of our children said “I can’t pick a favourite - they were all brilliant!”
