P3D are visiting Dunbar castle and harbour on Friday 1st June May 31, 2007

After a cloudy start we headed off to meet Tara Sykes the Ranger at the pool. She took us on a walk down to the Harbour and told us stories including the story of ‘Black Agnes’. We saw the canon ball that is stuck in the side of the castle wall and had lots of questions to ask. After that we did a tour of the old and new harbours where we saw the canon now used as a tie-up for the boats. Overall we had a lovely visit and we really enjoyed hearing all about Dunbar from Tara.

P3A visited the castle and harbour today(Thursday 31st May). The weather was sunny but windy. The children enjoyed being told about all the battles that had taken place there but were disappointed that they couldn’t go nearer to the castle or into the vaults.
Thank you to the parents who came along to help. I hope they enjoyed the history lesson.
P3 visit to Alnwick Castle May 24, 2007

P3 had a lovely time at Alnwick even though it was pouring with rain. We saw inside the castle and had a look at some of the towers. We also got a guided tour and were shown where some of the scenes from Harry Potter were filmed.
We also did some of the activities at the Knights Quest. We got to dress up and practised with swords. We also got to try jousting but not on real horses.
Luckily while walking through the Dragon’s Quest we did not lose any of the children. The dragon had just been fed.
