All the World’s a stage… even the classroom

Just another Edubuzz.org weblog

This page is designed to let people know what goes on inside the Drama Studio at Knox Academy, what each student faces in a lesson and why it’s important to devise in a creative and safe space.

All students in S1 and S2 have drama throughout the year and in theory is grounding for Standard Grade Drama in S3 and S4. As a facilitator of education I always aim to make my lessons as fun and as engaging as possible. I always evaluate each lesson on my own and as a class (some people think this is wrong but how can your courses get better with evaluation and feedback from those actually doing the course?).

The course is based on the fundamental rule that self-control is the key to success in Drama. Below is the S1 course.

Are you in S1? Let me know what you have thought of Drama so far! What you looking forward to and what are you dreading? (I always dreaded lighting and sound at uni!)

S2 Drama Course

Students at Knox Academy participate in Drama on a rota for half a year. As this is my first year at Knox Academy the students in S2 are completing a combined course of S1 and S2, which gives them basic skills needed to be able to sit Drama for Standard Grade. This course is for session 2007/2008. A new course is currently being designed for 2008/2009.
