Dirleton Primary School Blog

This is primary 3/4/5 with their John Muir certificates. We had lots of fun and discovered lots of things like where John Muir was born and all the fun stories of John Muir. We went to the John Muir birth place and to the woods. We made some hedge hog boxes and had lots of fun doing it. We made some dens to protect us from the rain ( Dave Wild used a watering can ).

Pay on the door

Today Hannah, Amy, Lilly and Fraser went to Prestonpans swimming pool for the East Lothian Primary Schools Swimming Association competition. Hannah took part in the frontcrawl & backcrawl and relay,  Amy took part in the relay, Lilly took part in the breastroke, frontcrawl and relay & Fraser did all the races.

Hannah Munro came !st in both races!

Lilly came 3rd and 2nd in her races

Fraser came 2nd in all his races

Everyone came 4th in the relay

We won the small schools trophy against Compass and Yester who both drew second place. We won by one point!

P6\7 are doing a project on wind and we found out that tornados are made with cold and warm air mixed together and the stronger air goes down and the weak air goes up due to gravity.

Today it is "La Chandeleur" and it is the tradition in France to make crêpes. (You can find out more about it on the cluster French blog "French 24") P7 had a go at following a recipe all in French. How much of the French can you work out? (The P7s will help you!)

 Today p3/4/5 had a visiter he was called Dr Graham the minister from the local church. We learnt about the holy Bible. Did you know that the Bible has 66 books in it?

The pupil group are going to have a poster competition for the whole school for a homework task.

It will be a litter poster to get the message across about the litter problem.
