Hi David,

Something else that might interest you and your readers.

On Monday 22nd March at 4:30pm we’re going to be hosting an exclusive live web debate. The debate will feature a panel lead by Mike Tomlinson, Pete Henshaw, Editor of education magazines SecEd and Delivering Diplomas, and presenter Liz Speight, debating what needs to change in education ahead of the coming elections and Edge’s Six Step for Change Manifesto for achieving this.

An interesting feature of the debate will be the ability to actually embed it within your blog and allow your readers to watch it live. We actually have the code ready to go – prior to the debate the embeddable player is actually a dynamic form allowing readers to submit questions/ comments. A key element of the debate will be the fact it’s going to be completely driven by submissions from the public. We want participants to have to say on practical and vocational learning and what they think about Edge’s manifesto for change.

Alternatively we’re going to be hosting the debate live from the Edge Facebook fan page at: http://www.facebook.com/ukedge - questions can be submitted here too.

Thanks for your time. Let me know if you want more info!

Cheers

I guess that to get the credit loans from creditors you should present a good reason. But, one time I have got a short term loan, just because I wanted to buy a car.

Hi David,

My name’s Mike Hankey. I work at Band & Brown, a public relations agency based up in London.

I’ve been browsing through your site and see you’re an advocate of giving students hand-on, practical skills and experience they can take forward into their careers – in your case particularly around the field of information technology.

With this in mind, something that I think may be of interest to you.

One of my clients is Edge, an independent charity dedicated to raising the stature of practical and vocational learning in the UK. I have a press release that centers around the latest Youth Commission report - supported by the Children Schools and Families Select Committee. The report documents the difficulties young people are facing as they join the workforce and their growing sense of frustration. It also discusses the steps Edge are taking to affect positive change.

With the general election looming and the future of the education system hanging in the balance now is a crucial time for the organisation. The circulation of this report will
play an important roll in influencing key decision makers around the country.

Please let me know if this sounds like something that might appeal to your audience and if you would like to receive further press releases from Edge. I'm happy to provide further information or answer any questions you may have.

Best wishes
Mike

Hi David,
I saw your post from 1 year ago about a calendar at http://mu.wordpress.org/forums/topic/8367. I was wondering if you could answer some questions for me since you have used it. I just want to make sure I understand how it works. 1) users need register on the site and then 2) they can submit events to the calendar. 3) Calendar events can appear in a list-style instead of a calendar-style. But, can the site owner moderate the user submitted events before they are added to the list? I appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks.

Very interesting model, David. If nothing else it should offer pause for thought to those who do not understand that the digital native (if such a thing exists) is not necessarily a digital expert, or even a digital familiar to any great depth.
