Tuesday 13th
Published February 13th, 2007 in UncategorizedThe first school today was in Rondebosch. Wonderful setting and a delightful school. I will have to get used to children saying, “Good day Maam”! Some very forward thinking by the HT, but a very priviledged school. Next was a school for 16 and over, specialising in Maths, Science and Tech. in Constantia. An ex prison building. All black pupils - very pressured environment - stars of the future. Nice present of an interesting CD for MGS maths dept.
In the afternoon we visited Robben Island. This was an extremely moving experience - and very hot! An ex prisoner was our guide and moved some to tears.
The blog is looking great Chris. I noticed that you had uploaded some pics to flickr so I popped on and stuck a few tags on them to make them easier to find, hope you dont mind.
Sounds like a very interesting and worthwhile trip. If you have the ability to take vidoes on your mobile it would be easy to upload them when you get back and stick them on google video so that everyone can see your African adventure.
Oh forgot to say that the tag for flickr is csdale if people search for that it will come up with your photos.

Great stuff Chris - Robben Island was shut when I was Cape Town. So I’m looking forward to you telling me about it whan you get back.
Glad it is all going well and you got to Robben Island -Morgan is leaving if Penguin arrives back with you -success at last !

Wishing you a belated happy birthday. Snoo says it is only six weeks til the Easter hols! We’re all working very hard this afternoon, had a great morning Tai-Chi-ing, spa-ing, etc-ing! No gossip, but I had call from Janet and I’m staying here doing EAL! Cooker still not plugged in! Having a heat wave - sorry you’re missing it. Took decisions about budget for next year - holidays booked for the summer! Don’t forget our special treat on your return!
