Promethean Flipchart Viewer Link
Published November 10th, 2006 in 4Y2, 5M1, Flipchart ViewerGreat News. I’ve managed to get a link that takes you straight to the ActivFlipchart Viewer Download page. Many thanks to John Self of Promethean who has helped me with this.

Once you’ve downloaded and installed this software, download the appropriate test page for your class from below. Check it opens and add a comment to this post telling me you managed it. If it doesn’t open, leave a comment telling me you didn’t manage installation. I will help you sort it out if I can.

If any pupils want ActivStudio Student edition please come and see me for a copy of the installation files. The folder is about 58mb in size so is a quite big for downloading. Bring a flash drive if you have one but i’ll try and burn a few copies onto disc this weekend. This software allows you to create your own basic flipchart pages and may be useful to our community in the future! Mr S.
Hi there. I’ve tested the 5M1 flipchart using the Student edition and the flipchart viewer software mentioned above and had some strange results.
I opened it straight from the link using the student edition and found the letters and words joiningtogetherintooneundreadablemess like this. I then saved it to disk and opened again to find a similar but slightly different mess. Next i tried to edit the testpage and i was able to see a better version of the text by trying to edit it. Finally I used the flipchart viewer software to open the unedited version of the page and the letters appeared more seperate.
I believe these problems are being caused by the font- possibly “kidsprint” which was used in class. Changing the font to a more universally used one such as Arial or Times New Roman could solve this.
Apart from these minor hitches, however, the student edition is a great tool- thanks a lot Mr S!

Hi I just downloaded flipchart veiwer and it didn,t take too long, however it may take dial-up users a while to download. Also when is the maths prelim (because my green sheet has gone walkabout)?

just downloaded the promethean thingy but when i try to run the test page it comes up and says that it cant open it and needs to know what program created it???
any ideas what to do???
Hi Oli. Try shutting down your computer and restarting it. After that it may recognise the files when you open them. Have you right clicked and save the files rather than just clicked on the links. This may help. It’s hard to say without seeing your machine. Come and see me tomorrow if it doesn’t work.

helloo i’ve just downloaded the thing and then tried to open the test page and it told me i didnt have the appropriate software to open it….ehhh…i thought thats what i just downloaded???
ahhh i’ve just read olis comment and thats the same thing…i’ll try that!
when you try to open the file .. is there an option “open with…” (perhaps if you right click)? If so, select the ACTIV viewer thing from the list of programmes.

i tried that and it looked as if the ACTIV thinybob wasnt there…hmmmm…thanks anyway! i think im maybe being an idiot but cant see how…

hey i just tried to down load the flip chart thingy but when i went to open it a thing came up to buy something or register and then all this like transcripts came up…whats this all about?! any ideas?

Hi Callum. It will ask you to put in your name and company etc. as all software does. This is normal. I’ve downloaded the file again and it is still the same as it was before. Go with the flow. If you want, downlaod the ActivStudio Student edition software. It’s actually better than flipchart viewer anyway. It is quite big though!
where do i find the one that u give out on cd to download mr stebbing? i get confused easily…
Hi Girv. If you click on this link it will automatically download for you. It is a zip file so you will have to unzip it using winzip or something like that. If you don’t have winzip google it and download the evaluation copy. It will work fine. Here’s the link:
