My Australian Facts

This was a part of our homework, to find some facts so here are my five facts…

Fact 1~ They export more coal and diamonds than any other country does

Fact 2~ Australia is the only country that is actually a continent too

Fact 3~ If the famous animal from Australia, the kangaroo was chased by a dog it would jump to a dam. It would then turn around and drown the dog with its front paws

Fact 4 ~ Australia is the sixth biggest country in the world

Fact 5 ~ Their are more people living in England than Australia

Hello rebecca,
You’re right - more people do live in England than in Australia. Do you think you could find out how many times England could fit inside Australia? I’m sure it would be quite a few times!
Keep finding out more interesting info about Australia :)

Well done for finding out these facts. Australia is an amazing place. I remember being surprised that in the 1970s Australia’s population was only around 15 million, which only about 3 times Scotland’s!
Have you heard about the water shortages in the Queensland area just now? Their reservoirs are down to under 20% full, and falling, so they’re having to limit how much water each person can use. If you use too much, the water people restrict the pressure to your house, so your shower just trickles!
