P567 Carnival masks
Our Italian teacher Simonetta talked about carnivals and we made masks using card, glitter, straws and feathers. On the 9th of February were are having a carnival party with games, food and dancing. We are allowed to dress up if we want but we must wear our masks!!

Peer Mediation
Pupils from both P6 and P7 are being trained as peer mediators.
What does this mean?

P7V Run Bookfair at Cockenzie
P7V and Miss O’Neill were very busy running the bookfair at school in November. Children from nursery to P7 visited to decide if they wanted to buy a book , they then bought the books the next week. Golden Time
At Cockenzie Primary we reward the children who have followed the rules and behaved just as they should with golden time each week. Each week a record is kept by the teachers of who has had all their golden time and at the end of each term these children are recognised and given a badge. At [...]

Gumboot dancing at Cockenzie
P 5/6 did some Gumboot dancing last Monday. Two instructors came to teach them how to do this. They studied South Africa before the holidays and their teacher Miss Drummond is there for 4 weeks. she arranged this for her class to do before she went off. She was selected to go on this visit [...]

Health week update 25th to 29th May 2009
Health Week began with the whole school holding Sports Day on Monday afternoon. This year the sun shone and the children enjoyed an afternoon away from their desks and hard work. The event took the form of a potted sports , testing skills and stamina.

Talent show for Breast cancer
On the last Thursday before Easter P7 pupils from Cockenzie primary ran a talent show to raise money for Breast cancer. They organised the auditions at lunch times and eventually selected the main contenders for the event. Successful P7 Bookfair
P7 D pupils organised a book fair for the school recently. The children had to apply for the jobs they thought they would be good at.
