We are Target Setters! May 12, 2008
Posted by Miss Collins in : Games-Based Learning Links , trackbackToday we did a quick recap of what we want to achieve with our World Builder Project. This covered 1) Creating a game, 2) Developing a story and 3) Preparing a presentation:
As you can see we also hope to podcast our stories so we can share our great work on this blog.
Although we haven’t set a date for the presentations, we will be testing and evaluating each others’ games on Monday next week. Because there are just SO many things happening at the moment, that does not leave us much time, so today we set ourselves targets for what we wanted to achieve in the 40 minute game design slots:

Fabulous idea, Miss Collins! Did you know that real game designers have to do this all the time? They always run out of time and money and then have to decide what is the most important thing they must finish. (PS, can we have copies of the targets for our data?)
Hello! I can send you a copy of the jpegs or would you prefer a written version?
Hello Miss Collins and everyone at Campie P7 class. I’ve been enjoying your blog immensely and have come away with lots of great ideas to use with my little group of students here in Sydney, from what you have been doing. Knowing that target setting has helped you to make decisions about how best to use your time in computer lessons will help us too. My group will probably only get two (or three at the most) 30-40 minute lessons a week with me on the game design. Do you think we will be able to manage the great work you have in that small amount of time - especially by target setting? Have you got any other helpful hints?
