This week we are focusing on listening to people in conversation. We came up with a good set of guidelines about what a good listener does in conversations:
- Don’t interrupt
- Don’t change the subject
- Don’t look around or at watch
- Look interested
- Look at the person while they are talking
- Ask questions to show you are interested, and answer their questions too.
We then practiced this by sitting in talking partners and describing a special event or competition that they had been to or part of. We gave each other feedback about how well we had listened.
