This morning you will work with your group to design a poster describing the charcaters in your story. Along with including the elements that make up a character (what they say, for example) and drawings, remember to use adjectives and simlies to paint a clear picture of what the character is like. Make your poster visually appealing as your group will present it to the class.
our group has been working very well together we have progessed quickly in our group
Hi! We thought the charaterisation was fun but very challenging. First we had to think of the character names and then we had to draw and describe them. We have all been working very hard. Bye!
This lesson has been very fun and we have worked well as a group.
:)
My group is working well together today and we’ve finaly finished our characters.
Our group has found it hard starting as some people have not bean working.I am going help everyone and encourge everyone.
This has been very fun and we have all worked well as a group

This has been very fun and we have all worked well as a group

Hello Miss McFarlane its Louise’s group here we’re on a roll we’re coming up with good ideas and we are all agreeing. Its very challenging.=P =D =)
our group has been working very well together and we all agree to our final decision on the 3characters and there personalitys.
Our group has found it interesting and quite easy doing the setting. We are all working well in a group and we are enjoying the story all together.:)
our group has found the setting a little bit easy and fun and really want to get on with the story
we are finding this fun so far and a little bit easy and we really want to get on with the story. Our story is exciting with some gruling moments.i hope it’s good.
hi its samantha, louise, melissa and ceilidh.we are doing very well at our story and we have a good story line and good characters.most of our characters are called what their called for certain reasons.we are doing great and we are having a very good time writing and planning the story line fantabulasly.
bye then
samantha,louise,melissa and ceilidh :):):):):):)=)=)=)=)=p=p=p=p=p=p=p=p
Our setting is in a mysterious island called Belle where our characters find a island called Belle and it smells like sea salt off the water and the coconuts from the palm trees.you can see dolphins coming out of the water. And you can hear the waves crashing down. They feel upset as they are deserted on this island:):):):):).
It is in a mountain range in Scotland on a road called Ghost Grove it takes place in a haunted house .With bats and owls flying everywhere
ghosts running in the hall way vampires in the rooms . It is very haunted
After Mrs. Macfarlane explained it we got are heads down and had fun sucessfully compeled the setting.graham, ricard, calum and josh.
Well it seems most groups have a grasp of where they want to take their story. Make sure to have thought through and talked over the details in the Build Up to the Climax/Turning Point. The events leading up to this point are equally important. Keep working hard.
Updates on Targets, Goals and Challenges:
Last week you published your personal Targets, Goals and Challenges on the blog. This week you are to revisit these and assess how things have gone. If you feel you have met your targets, let me know what you have done to achieve your aims and how you will carry this forward. If you feel you have not achieved what you set out to do, tell why this has been difficult and plan another strategy! Use your PSP to access the blog and update your plans on the Goals and Targets Page.
Primary 6/7:
This morning you are to update your Targets, Goals and Challenges as a writing group. You will have to get into your groups and decide the best way forward and the next steps you must take. This will also allow me to support you the in a meaningful way.
Also, when writing posts about how your story is coming along, please leave some feedback on the following: 1) how has working collaboratively influenced your learning and 2) how has writing for an audience or publishing your work influenced your learning and writing?
our gruop has started to work well today and got threw a lot of stuff

Our group had difficulties starting. We then organised ourself so that I was typing and Cameron was giving ideas and reading the plan out.It made our writing easier working in groups except 2 out of 4 people were working.Overall it was better working in groups because you got more ideas and the work done faster. It helped sharing ideas as there were more people.
I prefer writing in groups because you can get more ideas and see if your ideas are any good.We divided the responsibilities so that the fastest typer was typing and the others were either thinking of ideas or writing the story which we only did at the start.I think this way was best as we started to fall behind and got more ideas shared.
I prefer working in groups because four heads are better than one! We all shared ideas and decided which ones were good and which ones were not so good. It was good to share ideas because you could use an idea and change it a little bit. We decided to share the responsibilities because this helped us get the job done quicker. We discussed who would be best at each job. Ricard was the main typer and Callum was the back up typer and Gaham and me were thinking of ideas. This worked well most of the time but we did have some arguments about ideas.
I think writing in groups is a little bit better than one person doing all the work because 4 people can probaly think of much more ideas and get the job done quicker than 1 person. We divided the respon-
sibilities quite decent and fair, I was the main typer with Calum on backup as well as ideas with Josh & Graham the main idea people. It worked quite well for most of the time but occasiolally we had a few blips and arguements but in the end it was worth it (because we wrote about 18 A4 pages). Also I actually enjoyed most of it.
The writing groups were fun. Getting to write our own stories was great as you can just make up anything into a book like the island of beller or fantasia. overall it was fun to work in groups as you work faster
(P.S. it was actually 13 A4 pages ricard)
Writing in our group lot’s of fun. We’ve written 13 pages, but there’s a 14th with nothing but the page number on it, so we could probably just throw that page in the recycling! If we were behind, Samantha would type because she’s the fastest, and once we caught up, Melissa, Ceilidh or me would type and then Samantha would type again and we all came up with ideas. We did have a few arguements about ideas, but we sorted it out quickly and tried to make sure everyone liked it. There’s quite a few spelling mistakes, so maybe we should print of a good copy as well!!!Writing in groups was faster but it was really hard to find an idea that everyone liked.Plus, deciding our characters for podcasting took longer than we’d hoped it would.
Bye

Our novella is called ” The kwik i mart”. Ricard was are fastest typer so he typed. Me, josh and calum came up with ideas! I’m currenly working on the front cover. Josh and calum had a slow start and our group was falling apart! Everyone was arguing, and when we most needed it josh and then calum produced some great ideas. Before we new it other groups were finished as we were still on chapter four! Never the less we all tired our hardest and evertully finished- 14 A4 pages acturally calum and ricard!! I prefre working in groups no more than 4-5 is just to much.
In my writing group is Me,Samantha,Ceilidh and Louise. Our novella is called The Queens Jewls.I must say my wriyng group has not really been perfect because we have a lot of agueements :(.We are now making an improvement because we have setteled our diffrences and got along a bit better.I prefer working in groups a lot more because you get a lot more ideas and usually end up with a better story or whatever you are doing n your group. You also have a bit more fun working with your friends,as long as you pick the right friends to work well with.Everyone in our group has a job to do.If we are behind with our writing Samantha would type ,on the laptop,as she is the fastest and when we caught up me,Louise or Ceilidh would have a go at typing.Whoever wasn’t typing would think what to write next.I think we worked best when we weren’t argueeing and when we were working together as a group.
In writing groups we have been doing very well with the stories aswell as recording the story we still have a bit to do.Now that we know each other better in our group we have stopped arguing .most of our group (exept louise) is in our music group aswell and i think now that we know eachother better we have become better friends so we can work better in a group and now i see that it dosent matter who you are with you will get along at the end because you have seen how other people write so you can write more things aswell. From this project i think iv become better at writing stories and i want to write more stories now.My group have now learnt not to talk over each other but just to listen to other peoples idea’s but still give your own and to not let youself not say anything atol. we all cant wait till we read our good draft of our story.
My main highlight of the first tearm was definitely Lagganlia, especially mountain biking, as well as getting used to the blue jumpers and being top of the school. We also got told about the PSP project wich was quite something.
The second term proved quite a challenge as we were working at a faster rate than we were used to and were being pushed towards higher levels. We started our PSP project and used the cameras for our WW2 interview. We got to meet Tess Watson for our first time and got interviewed by some ICT experts.I made more friends and it was good to be allowed out to Olivebank at lunch.
The third tearm was even more of a challenge, just like a recent trip Lammer Law.We were doing our tests and got our two day visit to the Grammar. We were all getting scared and excited at the same time but I enjoyed it and now I am counting the days till the end of tearm and thinking about the Grammar.I have made a strong friendship within the class and hope I don’t loss it in the Grammar.
Last nights disco was a great way to end a gret year.
:)
This year has been great and I will have lots of good memories about it when I go into P7. My favorite project would have to be WW2 because it was very interesting seeing how hard it was to live throughout the war. We also had a trip to the Museum of Flight and we began our PSP project. Our PSP project was great fun and we got used to the cameras and searching the internet etc. We had great fun using the PSPs and I definetly will remember the project. Our Guitar Hero project was fun and I think I feel more confident in writing now because of our stories.
I have a great friendship with the P6s in the class and I have a strong friendship with some P7s. I will miss the P7s a little but I am looking forward to being with my old friends again. It has been a little difficult being in the compsite class because of different things the P6s had to do and the trips the P7s had. I am looking forward to P7 and I have enjoyed this year a lot.
Bye!

This year has been great espeically using PSP’s and guitar hero .this term has been exciting espeically the trip’s .I liked the river walk and arthur seat the best.In the first term I thought our first ES progect was boring which was scottish government .
The 2nd was great as we heard we were getting PSP’s. I could not belive that could be true. On the second day of that term we started our world war 2 progect Ilearnt alot about world war 2 and in the morning we got hotbrain which was a PSP game
.And then we got a student teacher called miss Maule she broght her fathers WW2 memories.last we got camaras for our PSP .
The 3rd term I got my cycling proficncy and climbed arthur seat for the very THIRST time!!! and also got to go on a river tyne trip which was MUDDY . We got new asus labtops which were small.
this year has been great but im going to miss my P7 freinds like Sam apart from that and scottish government this years been great.

This has been a great year for me. I have bonded well with the P7’s and I will miss them when the move up to the Grammar. It has been difficult being in a composite class. I have felt a bit inbetween the P7’s and the P6’s. But its been ok:) I’m looking forward to being back with my P6 mates.
One of the best things was getting to work with the PSP’s. We used them to help with our WW2 project. We took videos and photos and played a cool game called hotbrain. I enjoyed Miss Maule helping our class with our WW2 project. Miss Maule brought in some cool stuff from WW2. On my birthday we went to the Museum of Flight to see some planes and learn more about WW2.
I enjoyed running aroung Olivebank trying to get into the cross country team. After all my effort I ended up hurting my knees and was not allowed to do sports. Bad Luck:(
I enjoyed our River walk and going up Arthurs seat. Best of all was using the Guitar Hero. I loved making the Rock band videos. It was way cool! Doing my cycling proficiency was fun and i’m enjoying cycling to school.
This year has been totally great and I’ll miss the P7’s next year.
It has been really great this year, and I especially liked going to Lagganlia because when we went gorge walking, I got soaked through. I also liked when we did the nightline, because it was weird walking through the woods at night blindfolded following a rope. I think that it’s cool that PSPs should be used in school, because they are very useful when you’re working, and it’s a lot more fun than learning the other way. I also like using some of the features like taking photos and filming.
My favourite trip in P7 was the hill walking we did a few weeks ago. It was really tiring, but it was fun seeing cute baby lambs and strange turquoise coloured beetles that I found. Also halfway up the hill, we heard a coo coo bird, and they are very rare. When we reached the top of the hill, there was an old settlement where we had our lunch.
It has been fun at Campie, and I will miss going there when I go up to the Grammar.
We started this year off happy and glad to see our friends again. Wearing blue jumpers as we sat on wooden chairs was new to us. However, someone who wasn’t new to me was Ms Mcfarlane- who had taught me in p3. There was a mix of blue and marroon jumpers in our class! At the end of November, the lagganlia bus arrived and off we went! My favourite activity was gorge-walking and mountain climbing. When we came back we wrote to our penpals in Canada. In December we had our last Christmas party in Campie.
In January we were all issued a psp and hot brain(a game).Ms Mc Farlane opened a p6/7 blog.It wasn’t until February when our penpals wrote back. Mine was called Allan jr kudlak from kugluktuk.I really enjoyed our ww2 topic- ms. maul helped us a lot. Our final term at Campie began by writing back to our penpals and we are still waiting to hear back from them! We went to choices for life teaching us not to take drugs. I enjoyed climbing Lammerlaw and two days later represented the school at Meadowbank Athletics, where we overall came fourth out of East Lothian. At the beginning of june we had two days at the grammar which made me look foward to next year. Thanks to everyone who organised the leavers disco i had a great time.I think the p7′S in my class Will miss the p6′S however they will miss us more!
This year, my last year at Campie Primary from the begining to the end I enjoyed thoroughly. First it was Laganlia which was a great experenice to all of us who went. After that we had our christmas dance. Once the holidays were over we started our PSP project which which was brilliant and even better we were the only class in Scotland to have them. Hot Brain was good and I never knew you could have the internet on a PSP.
Summer term was the best. To add to our PSPs we were given a Guitar Hero project which personally was my favourite because we got to make our own bands (Rifles N Violets, Scarlett, United 5 and Led Astray) then make songs put them on a CD and create artwork for our CD covers. Also we got to play the new game Guitar Hero 3 on the PS2. I liked the two main trips (Choices for Life concert and the Lammarlaw trip) aswell. P7 has been by far my best year and I am looking forward to the grammar.
This year has been fab and I’ll miss all the P7s and I’m looking forward to being back with my old friends. Good Luck in the grammer to all the P7s and see you next year P6s! Thanks Ms Macfarlene for being such a great teacher and I will look forward to being in your class again!
