After reading a story about a bear, the PreSchool nursery children were keen to talk about what bears might like to eat when they wake up from their long winter hibernation. The children all agreed that bears like to eat honey and this led them to question where honey comes from. Miss Dunlop has a good friend who is a beekeeper. She very kindly let the nursery borrow some of her real honeycomb and look at some bees from her hives. The children also got to try on a real beekeepers outfit! Now many of the children are keen to become beekeepers themselves so that they can make their own honey for their family and friends!!!

The nursery children had a really great time dressing up and pretending to be pirates for World Book Day. They spent lots of time outside on H.M.S Campie sailing the shark infested seas looking for treasure islands. Some of our Campie pirates even had to walk the plank! Their World Book Day adventures were made even more special when some Primary Seven pupils came over to read stories to the nursery children. We would like to say a HUGE thank you to Miss MacFarlane’s class and Mr Gielty’s class for their fantastic storytelling!
Primary 1 enjoyed World Book Day. Many of us came dressed as pirates. We made pirate hats and drew treasure maps. We also listened to pirate stories and poems . Thank you to Adam for bringing one of his books in. We also spent some time looking at the books we have in our book corner and sorted them into fiction and non-fiction. We told each other about books we like. Now we all have a book token worth £1 which we can use to buy a book or put towards the cost of a more expensive book. We are looking forward to choosing!
Arrrrrrrrgggggg!!! Today p7A did some paired reading with p1/2. We read the pirate theamed book Treasure Island. They all loved it and got really involved! Here are some of the pictures!
Primary 1a celebrated World Book Day with some stories about pirates and a treasure hunt outside in the courtyard. We have been listening to the story of Treasure Island and have made maps and pirate flags as well as our very own pirate hats.
CGT - the last of the audition photos.. worth waiting for!

The nursery children raised lots of money for the British Heart Foundation when they hosted a ‘Be A Part Of Red Heart Day’ party. They all enjoyed dressing up in red and the nursery staff painted red hearts on their faces. Some children wanted red noses instead!! We would once again like to thank all the nursery parents and carers for their generosity and support with all that we do in nursery. THANK YOU!!

P4C visited the National Museum of Scotland on Monday. It was a beautiful sunny day for our trip into Edinburgh. We took the train for a change and had lovely walk up to the museum. We looked at all the roman exhibits and even got to handle some real roman objects from the handling box. We then did some drama with a roman gladiator and lots of us got involved as gladiators, soldiers, slaves and even an emperor. We returned to Campie tired but well informed and ready to learn more about our topic.
Last Friday P4a said goodbye to Mr Clark and have been grateful for his help this term. We are looking forward to trying out judo tomorrow and to our Museum visit on Thursday. We are still busy working towards our Roman Open Day. On Monday of this week we enjoyed Drama about Mary Queen of Scots with Shona Davidson. We were all spies and are looking forward to the second part next Monday!
