Our Willow Den

Last week, Earth Calling helped us transform Dalcalmor Den into a willow den.  4 willow arches/dens have been created.  They turned the trunk of our sycamore tree into a snail head by adding a snail body to it.  Earth Calling say we are the only school with a willow snail in Scotland! It looks great [...]

Playground fund gets £10,000!

We have a trim trail, we have a boat - and now we have another £10,000 to spend!
Awards For All (the lottery) has given us the cash to help us with the playground, and we have big plans to spend it.
Before the end of the Easter holidays the trim trail and boat will be joined [...]

And the fence came down today….

Today, the fence came down at Dalcalmor Den, ready for the willow work beginning next Monday 8 February.  It looks so much nicer already and gave the children another place to play.  Those toadstools are good to climb, aren’t they  P2?   The picnic tables are now in the playground where we hope an amphitheatre will [...]

Our boat came in today!

We’ve been so excited today because our boat came in!  First, a lorry brought in the pieces, then the workmen assembled it and finally we all got to play in it.

The workmen are also working hard to build the trim trail to the delight of the audience every playtime.

And what did the children have to [...]

Back to School 2010

Happy New year to all Campie families and staff.  School starts again for children on Wednesday 6 January 2010.   Staff start back tomorrow but our planned health walk is off.   I don’t want to be responsible for staff breaking bones!   So leave your walking boots at home, though you may need them to get across [...]

WOW! £1847.40

Yes, that is the phenomenal profit Campie Christmas Fair made for the playground.  Thank you everyone for giving so generously.  Along with the £350 made from the Family Disco and the £196 made from the cards, that brings this fornight’s total to £2393.  The great news is that this means the boat can go into [...]

Campie Christmas Card fundraiser 2009

Susan Finlay had a brilliant idea earlier in the term, to get children to draw a Christmas card which families could have printed.  This ended up being a lot of work for Susan and a few others but the results have been outstanding.  £1 from each pack ordered went to the playground fund.  Susan made £196 from the cards.   [...]
