Anti-bullying, perfect posters October 9, 2008
Posted by Miss Collins in : P4, P6 , 1 comment so farYesterday P4B and P6B came together once again to create their final competition poster. There was paint, paper, feathers, glue and lots of discussion. The biggest challenge was the time element. With only one hour to complete the task the pressure was on.
Most of the teams managed to complete their poster with seconds to spare, others didn’t quite make it. But great fun was had by all and everyone felt proud of what they had achieved. The finished posters will be sent off tomorrow to be judged in the national competition. The top prize is MP3 players so we’ll keep our fingers crossed!
It’s been a great start to our collaborative anti-bullying project, and super for everyone to get to know each other. Thanks to everyone for all their enthusiasm and hard work.

Anti Bullying Competition Work October 7, 2008
Posted by Miss Collins in : P4, P6, Uncategorized , 1 comment so farToday saw the start of a beautiful friendship between P4b and P6b! Our classes came together to start work on the theme of bullying.
National Anti-Bullying Week 2008 is 17 - 23 November, and the website respectme and the Scottish Government have joined forces to launch an anti-bullying competition, based around the theme, ‘what bullying means to me’.
The children from P4 and P6 have started working on entries for this competition today. Each P4 is working with a P6 partner, and we started by sharing ideas about what forms bullying can take. The poster that the P6s designed last year came in really handy as it gave us the categories of Physical, Verbal, Emotional and Cyberbullying. We also discussed how these types of bullying make a person feel inside. This helped us to brainstorm ideas for what bullying means to us, and then how we can show that in a poster for the competition.
The Family of Mankind-p3/p4 Assembly May 9, 2008
Posted by dmunro in : P4 , add a commentAlien Invasion at Campie! The p3 and p4 pupils put on a spectacular assembly highlighting the needs of mankind. Here in p4, we opted to explain the need for education and how Campie School is a fine example of the Family of Mankind. During the assembly 4 ‘aliens’ crashed their spaceship and were curious to know the meaning of school and everything that we do at Campie. The p4 pupils did a great job explaining how we learn and how we get along at Campie. The ‘aliens’ returned to the planet Zorgo full of excellent ideas about how to open their own school. We finished the assembly on a high note by singing ‘We are Family’.
P4’s World Book Day March 8, 2008
Posted by kcolver in : P4 , add a commentP4 had a super World Book Day. Lots of the children dressed up and we were very concerned by the appearance of not one, but two Tracey Beakers!! Luckily they seemed calm and liked the positive attention so there were no strops or hissy fits. We were also amazed to see that Harry Potter was here too, after spotting him in a P3 class! Still it’s amazing what a little magic can do. I know a few teachers who would love to manage being in two places at once!!
The Worst Witch managed not to turn anyone into a frog, although we think she must have cast some kind of spell in P4A as there were two Mrs. Pepperpots!! The pirate theme continued with a very scarred and frightening looking Pirate Captain. We kept a close eye on George ( from George’s Marvellous Medicine) at lunchtime, just in case he developed any new shrinking or growing potions.
The Tiara Princess added some much needed glamour to the occasion, as did Chloe from Bratz and Gabrielle from High School Musical. The teachers were all very anxious to see Dennis the Menace at school and were seen checking the corridors for any sign of Gnasher. Luckily there was no sign of him and The Football Machine did not need to worry that his football would be spoilt.
Overall it was a great day as the children had fun and really enjoyed their buddy reading with the primary threes.

Posted by kcolver in : P4 , add a commentP4 had a great Campie Golden Well Done Done Day. P4 enjoyed circle time and some of us made spiral prints. In the afternoon the P3 joined us to play the board games we had made. They all seemed to enjoy the games especially the prizes they won! We ended the day with a singalong with P3.

P4 Are Having Good Vibrations!! February 13, 2008
Posted by kcolver in : P4 , 1 comment so farP4 enjoyed a visit from the Good Vibrations Roadshow. The children learnt how sound can travel. Several of us had the opportunity to take part in the show. The maestro and Bella demonstrated with our help how sound moves through the air, water and solids.
In class our science topic is water and we have been learning how to save water. Remember to turn the tap off when you clean your teeth! We have also been learning about how the water cycle works.
