We have had a great day and everybody is buzzing and looking forward to the rest of the week. The journey was long- we arrived at 1.01pm, but well worth it. The trip on the bus was a smooth one, hardly anybody felt ill.
On arrival groups were quickly out and about doing their one activity of the afternoon - mountain biking, orienteering, ropes course and tree climbing. After that the children made their own beds, although some are still to be made!
Everyone has been fed, tonights menu was lentil soup, pasta bolognaise and chocolate crispy cake (double cream optional). currently the children are out in the woods kitted out in helmets and goggles doing the nightline course.
Tomorrow I will get some children to write and hopefully we will have some photos of them in action.

As a final fundraising event for the Simpsons Special Care Babies charity, P7 pupils will be taking part in this year’s Tesco Great School Run. This is a national event, and will be held in schools throughout the UK on Friday 20th June.
Pupils will complete a 2k route as a 7 lap race around Olivebank. Pupils can run, jog or walk… or a mixture of all three! Anyone wishing to complete it in fancy dress is welcome to do so!
P7 pupils will be collecting sponsors for this event over the next week and will have the opportunity to practice on some lunch breaks and during Golden Time.
It will be a real challenge for many, and should be great fun!

This year P7 are raising money for the Simpson Special Care Babies charity and have already held fantastic events like the Xmas Factor and the Bake Sales.
Our next fundraiser is a competition!
I will be running in the Bupa Great Edinburgh Run this Sunday, 4th May. It is a 10k race starting and ending in the Meadows.
The Competition:
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE MISS COLLINS TO RUN 10 KILOMETRES?
You can help us raise money for Simpsons Special Care Babies by paying a minimum donation of 50p to enter a guess in our competition!
Make a guess between 50 minutes 0 seconds and 70 minutes 59 seconds.
The person whose guess is closest to the nearest whole second will win a fantastic prize!
P7b pupils will visit classes this week to collect guesses & donations!

As part of the event, at 2.00pm representatives from each school will take part in a ceremony where a ‘time-capsule’ will be buried in the central courtyard of the Grammar School. Each school will make a contribution to the contents of the capsule.
The showcase will be open from 1pm until 3pm and all parents, carers and pupils are welcome.
P7 and P4 will be making contributions from Campie School.

This is one of the weeks of the year when we should make a HUGE effort to walk to school. Its time to shake off the winter cobwebs with a brisk walk to school. Meet up with friends on the way, look at the interesting winter skies and get your heart pumping faster! Not only will you be doing yourself good, but you will be doing your bit for the environment. Dust off the walking shoes now!
