Primary Three Open Day

Last Thursday afternoon Primary Three welcomed lots of visitors into their classrooms to show off all their lovely Viking work.  The children enjoyed acting as guides and showing  their visitors some interesting artefacts.  Our guests were then treated to a super assembly which everyone had worked hard to put together.  Well done boys and girls- you [...]

Museum Visit

Primary Three visited the National Museum of Scotland on Monday morning to learn about life in Viking times.  We looked through some handling boxes and spoke about how the things inside gave us clues about how the Vikings lived.  We also looked around the museum and found lots of Viking artefacts- the children particularly liked [...]

Viking-tastic!

Primary 3 have been busy, busy, busy learning about the vikings.  We designed and created these fantastic longboats for homework- aren’t they great!  We have loads of viking art work on display in our class rooms and we have also been learning a song called Viking Rock.

Viking Homes

This week we have been learning about viking longhouses and comparing them to the homes we live in today. We all made a little model longhouse and are going to put some of these together to make our own viking settlement. We also worked in pairs on the laptops to type and [...]

More longships!

This afternoon in Primary Three we all made our very own longship.  We made the boat and added a colourful sail and a fierce looking prow ( this is a new word we have learned- it is the figure at the front of the boat ).  We then added shields to the side of the [...]

We are sailing!

Primary 3 have been enjoying their topic on The Vikings.  The children in 3b made this impressive longship.  You may even recognise some of the fierce looking warriors on board- what a frightening bunch!

This afternoon Primary Three all made snowmen. We used toilet roll tubes, cotton wool, red felt, pipe cleaners, googly eyes and lots of glue to hold everything together. When we were finished it looked like there had been a cotton wool blizzard in the classroom! The snowmen look fabby and we are all [...]

P3 Party Time!

We all enjoyed our Christmas party and had a great time playing games, dancing and eating. Everyone looked great in their fancy clothes and our two young visitors loved seeing how all the big boys and girls played and had fun!

Here are our teachers with their babies, who visited the end of our party. Aww…..
