We’d done the training.
We’d planned our outfits.
We’d made our race numbers.
We’d had lots of extra water….
It was time for the Great School Run 2009 at Musselburgh Rugby Club!
140 pupils from P7 and P6 took part today in the 2k race around the rugby pitch (7 laps!) to raise money for WaterAid and Make-A-Wish Foundation. After all our training it was great to see everyone enjoying the occasion and many pupils running far faster and far further than they’d ever done before! We are so proud of you all!
Thank you very much to Craig McGeary for arranging for us to use MRFC ground as was fantastic to have so much space for spectators and runners. Thank you also to all the staff, classroom assistants and parents that have been involved in all the training and for cheering everyone on on the big day. And thank you to all the friends and family that have offered sponsorship for these great charities. Oh yeah, and thank to the sun for keeping its hat on long enough for us to a have a very blustery but dry day for it!! I can’t wait for next year’s event!!!
