Tesco Great School Run 2008 June 20, 2008
Posted by Miss Collins in : P6, P7 , 19commentsCongratulations to everyone in P7a, P7b and P6/7 who took part in the race today!
We were really impressed by how hard everyone tried and there were some great fancy dress outfits! Thank you to Mrs Borthwick and Mrs McCloud for their help on the field and for all the P4s who came along to support us -it made a huge difference! Mrs Slight took a couple of photos so maybe we can get them up on here soon.
It sounds like this last fund-raiser could be one of our best, so please remember to bring your sponsorship money in on Monday folks!
There were 13 dedicated runners in Wave 1, and the results were:
1st place = Chris C
2nd place = Dean B
joint 3rd place = Liam T and Robson McC

Friday 13th@Campie: No Bad Luck… Just Crazy Hair! June 13, 2008
Posted by Miss Collins in : P6, P7 , 4commentsP6/7 came up with a great idea for a whole school fund raiser -Crazy Hair Day! Children and staff were asked to pay a 50p donation to spend the day in a crazy wig, or with their hair in bunches, pleats and spikes, and spray painted in wild colours and glitter! Some people must have been up very early this morning to get their creations ready on time!
Hopefully the organisers themselves can add to this post very soon, but in the meantime, here are some shots from P7b:
Leaver’s Dance June 12, 2008
Posted by Miss Collins in : P7 , 8commentsThe P7 Leaver’s Dance was very kindly organised by the Parent Council, and was a roaring success! Everyone had a great time dancing the night away. I am sure there will be lots of comments here from the P7s, as they were still buzzing about it this morning!

As a final fundraising event for the Simpsons Special Care Babies charity, P7 pupils will be taking part in this year’s Tesco Great School Run. This is a national event, and will be held in schools throughout the UK on Friday 20th June.
Pupils will complete a 2k route as a 7 lap race around Olivebank. Pupils can run, jog or walk… or a mixture of all three! Anyone wishing to complete it in fancy dress is welcome to do so!
P7 pupils will be collecting sponsors for this event over the next week and will have the opportunity to practice on some lunch breaks and during Golden Time.
It will be a real challenge for many, and should be great fun!
P7 on Lammerlaw June 10, 2008
Posted by Miss Collins in : P7 , 7commentsOver the past two weeks Mrs Stark took P7s to Lammerlaw for full day expeditions to the Hopes Reservoir area. The hills were steep and the heather springy, and the sheep were a bit bemused by the strange new (noisy) additions to their land! All sorts of wildlife was spotted and many had to dig deep to reach the top of some tough climbs -well done everyone! Thank you Mrs Stark!
