P3 Letter Writing February 25, 2008
Posted by kcolver in : P3 , add a commentPrimary 3 have started learning to write letters. We all wrote an invitation to a sleepover. Pupils had to plan for themselves what their guest would need to bring and what activities they would do at their sleepover. They also had to use some of the conventions of letter writing to open and close their invite. If you could take some time to show your child some letters you have received we would be very grateful.

There will be three classes run throughout the afternoon. There will be 16 places available in each class. A letter will be issued to gauge interest nearer the time.

A P4 hockey club will start after the Easter Holidays. Thank you to the parents who have offered to run this club, your help is very much appreciated. A letter will be issued soon.
Netball
Two parents have kindly offered to run a netball club. Details will follow soon.
Girls’ Football Team
We would really like to start a girls’ football team as there has been a lot of interest from the pupils. If you would like to be involved in coaching the team please get in touch.
If you are interested in offering your talents to help take a club for any other sport, please call the school (01316652045) and ask for Mr Wood or contact the active schools co-ordinator (07976376945), Ashley Oswald.
Primary 7 Muffin Sale Success! February 24, 2008
Posted by Miss Collins in : P7 , 6commentsOn Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday last week Primary 7 raised a fantastic amount of money for their charity Simpson Special Care Babies by selling a delicious array of home-made goodies!
Each class set up stalls in the dining hall offering their home baking and refreshments to classes throughout the school, and also tempting visitors! Pupils successfully took on roles selling food, selling drinks, handling money, waiting tables, and hosting, and the reports from customers and staff alike were glowing to say the least! Well done everyone!
Here are some images from P7b’s sale on Tuesday:
This post will be updated in the coming days to include our grand total and more photos from the other days’ trading….
Golden ‘Well Done Campie’ Day in P7 February 24, 2008
Posted by Miss Collins in : P7 , add a commentOn Thursday 14th February the whole school celebrated our glowing HMIE report with a day of challenging and fun activities.
P7a enjoyed a whole class art project, extra Golden Time using games & laptops and playing football outside.
P7b took on the challenge of building the tallest and strongest towers possible from Jelly Babies and Spaghetti in teams, (the toughest challenge was not eating them all!), and then went to Fisherrow Links with Mr Wood, Miss Collins and Mrs McLeod for football, rounders and other games.
P6/7 learned new skills in animation, making backgrounds and characters for a WW2 themed story.
After lunch all classes came together and could chose from a DVD or more outdoors activities!
Here are some images of Primary 7B blog taking on the Jelly Baby challenge…..

Posted by kcolver in : P4 , add a commentP4 had a great Campie Golden Well Done Done Day. P4 enjoyed circle time and some of us made spiral prints. In the afternoon the P3 joined us to play the board games we had made. They all seemed to enjoy the games especially the prizes they won! We ended the day with a singalong with P3.
P6 Well Done Campie Day February 18, 2008
Posted by Alicia MacFarlane in : Uncategorized , add a commentIn celebration of our successful HMIE report Campie pupils participated in a Golden ‘Well Done Campie’ Day. As part of the day, Primary 6s baked, made crafts, created art work, had Golden Time and used the I Can Animate programme
to begin using animation. Many of the 6s took part in golf workshops led by Ms. Leyland, so luckily, the weather was perfect to spend the day outside. It was a great day, with everyone working together and a nice reward for all the hard work the pupils have put in this school year.

On the 29th February, 2008, Musselburgh Grammar School is opening it’s doors to showcase work from schools across the Musselburgh Cluster. All the Primary schools are contributing to this event which shows Musselburgh:Past,Present and Future.
As part of the event, at 2.00pm representatives from each school will take part in a ceremony where a ‘time-capsule’ will be buried in the central courtyard of the Grammar School. Each school will make a contribution to the contents of the capsule.
The showcase will be open from 1pm until 3pm and all parents, carers and pupils are welcome.
P7 and P4 will be making contributions from Campie School.
