On the Mound or Rock Bottom?
I had a really enjoyable visit at St Mary’s Primary School in Haddington today. One of the classes I visited was a Primary 6/7 class with their teacher Patrick Griffen. Patrick has started an interesting system for working with the class this year, and the pupils were very keen to tell me about it. [...]

I wrote a post a few weeks ago describing the plans for an Enterprise and IT project where pupils devised and participated in a campaign to improve their locality in some way. Technology was used to support the publication of the campaigns - podcasting and film being particularly relevant.

The best job in the world?
Apologies for a late post. On Thursday I went to visit Derek Robertson and the Consolarium at Learning and Teaching Scotland in Dundee. For those who have not been yet, the grounds are beautiful and it was a sunny early summer day, so the drive up was also scenic. The building, however, [...]

Lesley Smith from the Arts Service is co-ordinating the bid for this post to support the work we have been doing for many years in East Lothian through our work in schools, our input from Oscar [...]

Glow Mentor Day
Edublogger
What a really productive day today. We had our first full day Glow mentor meeting of 2007. This meant a very early start for me to set up and a fairly frantic journey for many of the mentors through the particularly awful Edinburgh traffic. We had a fairly heavy agenda as [...]

Can YOU make a difference?
A few years ago, we held an Event in East Lothian called the East Lothian Film and Animation festival. At the time, film (thanks to the easily accessible iMovie) was beginning to really take off in schools and we wanted to promote it with as many schools as we could in our authority. In the [...]
