Winter Robins.

The nursery children have been learning how to look after the birds in winter.
They have been watching to see the different kinds of birds that come to eat their bird cake.
They have seen robins, blackbirds, pigeons and blue tits.

This week they have been learning “The north wind shall blow” and have been busy making robins for the wall.

We have experienced a whole range of weather over the last few weeks!
We have learnt about the weather symbols, different devices to measure the weather, the Beaufort scale and have our own weather forecast!
Next week we will be looking at ice and frost…

‘Should we ban the sale of chocolate to under 16s’

It’s starting to snow

snow1.JPGThis morning primary 1 & 2 were checking on the weather forecast on the bbc website.  We saw that lots of rain is forecast for Friday night. While we looking at where the snow was falling in Scotland we looked out the window and it was snowing! We put our coats on and ran outside to feel the snow.

Learning about debating & podcasting

Making ice in the Nursery.

P1/2 have been measuring this week. We have looked at size, length, weight and volume. We have just started a topic on the Weather, and we are thinking of ways to measure the weather too. Our rain gauge has been blown over twice.
