We have been investigating the pond. We have found -
a newt
frogs
water beetles and snails. The depth of the pond is 40cm. We have been doing this because Tobermory School asked us about the pond. Please see the link on the right hand side of this page if you want to follow our project.

P3/4 have been doing a personal project and have been allowed to choose whatever they want to learn about. Natasha’s is about dog agility, Emily’s is about nature, Samantha’s is about wild cats, Louie’s is about archery, Nicholas has been finding out about the Second World War, Cameron’s is about oceans, Niamh’s is about food, Angus is finding out about ancient Egypt, Chloe’s is about jewellery, Connor’s is about the human body, Rebecca’s is about drums, Monique’s is about predators, Joshua’s is about football, Lewis is finding out about Beamish, Rory’s is on Spain, Harry’s is about planets, Lauren is finding out about dogs and horses, Caitlin’s is about cats, Zoe is also finding out about wild cats and others, Amy is finding out about recycling and Ben’s is about Romans.

We had great fun in the school, dressing up, getting our faces painted, having competitions. It was great fun and we made £18.63 for comic relief - which is GREAT!!!! Hope you enjoy our photos.
P3/4 have done a topic about castles. This is some of the art work that they have done. To make these fierce dragons they have used pastels, colouring pencils, paint and collage. Which is your favourite dragon??????
The P1/2s explained to us that their project is gardening.They planted mint and basil seeds,to see what the seeds need in order to grow.
A parent asked for information about the After School Club at Aberlady. Given the number of Athelstaneford children who go, it is important to promote this for other potential users. We hope this is helpful.

Today the Nursery told us that they were planning to go shopping at Somerfield in North Berwick. They reported they were going shopping because they needed to collect snacks to eat at their snack time. They also decided that they would go to the park after, if they had time, as a little reward.
My job was to serve soup for the PTA Lunch Cafe. Other people served rolls, flapjacks, chocolate brownies and drinks. When the school parents came in I had a long line of people to serve. I now know how cafe staff feel!
My job was to video the Lunch Cafe.
I was doing the serving at our Peruvian Lunch Cafe! We were doing it to raise money for a charity called The Vine Trust. The nursery parents came first and it was hard serving them. I was to be given the money by the people to get in and give them the type of sandwich that they wanted, Alistair (Howdy,smallal) was to take their order of soup (lentil or tomato) and go get it and Lauren (Howdy,nonny) was to take their drink order (tea, coffee or juice)! Then the school bell rang! We all knew this would be a RUSH HOUR!!!!!In not even a minute everyone charged in! Parents, children and babies rushed in, all trying to get their, food sit down and chat with their friends (expect for the babies!) It was sooooo hard trying to keep them happy, the noise burst our eardrums and it was getting hard to concentrate! At last it was over. We finally got some lunch so we sat back and relaxed! After our lunch (a very quick lunch!) we got a chance to buy some gifts at the Peru shop then we all tried to escape doing the washing up. I looked around. A lot was going on. My friend, Jordan (Howdy,swanieboy) was doing a number grid (and a bet at the same time to sell all the squares!) and Hamish (Howdy,kingboy) was interviewing some parents!!!!! I bought a Peruvian peg doll, a bookmark and five number grid squares! Soon everything calmed down…well kind of!!!!!!!!! In the kitchen it was a struggle! Everyone was tripping over each other trying to help, the parent helpers were trying to wash the cooking equipment and some people were asking if they could help! At last someone came to pick up my brother and I. When I was in the car, heading home I was relieved to get away from all that noise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At our Lunch Cafe my job was trying to sell all the squares on the Number Grid. I had a bet with a friend that I could sell all the squares before the end. I WON! Well that was pretty obvious. I’m a great Sales Person!
