Active Learning Half Day Training March 14, 2008

Posted by jmacaulay in : Uncategorized , trackback

Yesterday saw the first and second training sessions for teachers in  East Lothian. The training took place at Stoneyhill Primary - a big thank you to all the teachers there who welcomed us into their classrooms!

The outline for the session included practitioners thinking about what Active Learning means to them, considering space for learning, planning and observation and the way forward in East Lothian for Active Learning.

The day was a huge success, mainly because teachers were given the opportunity to reflect on their developing practice and to share ideas with other people. This model of discussion certainly seems to be the way forward in developing Active Learning for teachers, and reinforces what practitioners have said in the drop-in sessions earlier in the term. From the feedback session we have been able to identify CPD needs for next session and how teachers would like that to be delivered.

Looking forward to the next training day at Gullane on 18th March!
