Active Learning Workshops January 18, 2008
Posted by jmacaulay in : Events , 1 comment so farAs a follow-up to the drop in sessions which were held last term, we plan to run a series of a Active Learning workshops after the February break. These workshops will be organised into clusters, with Musselburgh and Prestonpans working together, Tranent with Haddington and Dunbar joining up with North Berwick.
The focus of these sessions will be:
* observing children
* models of active teaching and learning
* sharing good practice
* what makes a good literacy and numeracy lesson
* how Active Learning fits into A Curriculum for Excellence
The dates for the workshops are as follows (however, venues have still to be confirmed.)
Musselburgh and Prestonpans: Thursday, 14th February, 4:00 - 6:00
Dunbar and North Berwick: Tuesday, 19th February, 4:00 - 6:00
Tranent and Haddington: Thursday, 21st February, 4:00 - 6:00
There was a great response to the drop- in sessions last term, and lots of teachers out there are “having a go!” The workshops will be a fantastic opportunity to pick up and share good ideas. Hope to see you there!
