As promised here are some of the results of the outcome of P7’s technology topic on moving images. Unfortunately the class were plagued with technical problems in the final stages and we only have 2 of the animations to show - others were going well until a ‘bug’ attacked!!
We hope you enjoy the two that made it through.
Primary 6 and 7 want YOUR vote! December 10, 2008
Posted by Miss Howat in : Primary 6, Primary 7, Whole School Events , 2commentsPrimary 6 and 7 have been studying the topic of Local and National Government this term. As part of this topic we decided on issues that we would like to campaign for in order to improve our school and community. We then formed parties and were given a critical skills challenge. Each of us has a clear role within our parties and we have been advertising and campaiging in order to win the whole school election. This is taking place on Tuesday 16th December after our Hustings.
The winning party in the election will get to take their issue forward and our classes will work on this as an enterprise project next term. You can find the Party Political Broadcasts from each party below, this will help you to decide who to vote for.

Following P7’s topic on Victorians, the class have been learning about the early development of ‘moving pictures’ in Victorian times and thinking about how lucky we are that ‘movies’ have progressed so far since then.
The class have learned about ‘persistence of vision’ where your brain is tricked into ’seeing’ still images move, and have made their own Thaumotropes and Flick books. The next stage was to make Zoetropes - spinning wheels with a series of still pictures that appear to move when the machine spins - the pictures show the class hard at work making their own.
The next stage is to consider today’s equivalent of the Zoetrope - and make our own ‘movies’ using still images with today’s technology. Watch this space……
