Posted by aberladywebclub in : French , add a commentThe P6/P7 pupils at Aberlady met Audrey, the French assistant from NBHS today and she comes from Lyon in the south-east of France. Just recently we had a post on French 24 about the “Fête des Lumières” (Festival of Lights) in Lyon. She explained that this is a really big event for the town and lots of visitors come to see it. She has gone to see it lots of times too! We all thought it looked fantastic! She also told us that the people who live in Lyon (Les Lyonnais) light little candles and put them in their windows too!
P6 did an interview with Audrey so you could find out all about her as well! Merci Audrey - on s’est bien amusés et.. un grand merci aux élèves de P6 pour cette interview.

Posted by aberladywebclub in : French , add a commentP6 have done some great work with Mrs Swan! We are really lucky to have a boy in P6 who has lived in the south of France for 3 years. They have been doing podcasts on French 24 of the conversations they have been practising.
P7 have been learning the parts of the body in French and they have drawn some lovely pictures to label.

P6 learned this French song recently and they decided to record it for you so you can learn it too. You will see from the photo that the bridge only goes half way across the river. Who can remember why that is?

P6 are learning to talk about their brothers and sisters in French and have been singing “Frère Jacques” so beautifully in class we thought we’d let you hear it too. Bravo à tous et un grand merci à Lauren qui a joué de la guitare.

Posted by Miss Howat in : French , add a commentWe have been learning about the weather and learning how to do a weather report. We had high school kids from France to talk to us about France. We have a French assistant called Mr Curt. We also learned about how to talk about our pets. Now we can say examples for you: cold is il fail froid and hot is il fait chaud.

Quelle excitation! We had a very exciting afternoon last week when some French visitors from Trèbes (which is near Carcassonne) came to spend some time with Primary 5 and some of Primary 6. We used our French - we asked lots of questions! We did a little quiz about France together which everyone enjoyed and then the Primary 5 pupils did some Scottish dances for them. We thoroughly enjoyed their visit! On s’est bien amusés!

P6 have been learning to say their birthdays and to talk about their pets. P7 have been learning how to order food and drinks in a café. They have made their own menus and have produced sketches. A suivre!
P6 decided to have a go at “Le Rap de Pâques”.
