Yellow Pages!!! February 21, 2008
Posted by Mrs MacKay in : Eco News , 4commentsThe Eco committee of Aberlady Primary School started to collect Yellow Pages at the start of December for a competition (collecting the most Yellow Pages). Unfortunately we didn’t come 1st but we came 7th out of 31 entries. Well done to Athelstaneford School for coming 1st. It got better when we got news from Miss Curran (head teacher) that we had won the picture competition. This competition was to design a picture using Yellow Pages-(front covers). Aberlady made a picture of a vase with flowers and it was surrounded by a bee and a butterfly. Well done to the Eco committee who made the picture!!!!!
French Penpals February 21, 2008
Posted by Mrs MacKay in : French , 2commentsIn 2007 Primary 7 wrote to the primary school in Valleraugue which is the village in France Aberlady already has links with (click here to see photos). Shortly after Christmas we received replies from them. Everyone was excited to have penpals in France but some people found it tricky to read them. Mrs Swan, our teacher said that we will write to them again as soon as possible.

World War 2 Project February 21, 2008
Posted by Mrs MacKay in : Primary 7 , 4commentsP7’s latest project is on World War 2. So far P7 have done work on evacuation, rationing and women at war. They have also looked at posters the government put up about growing your own food, not wasting gas and others. Some things surprised us such as the fact that dogs and horses were given gas masks! So far it seems P7 are enjoying their project.
